Michelle Novosel Receives WEDC's Women Honoring Women 2024 Award

Michelle Novosel is one of five Huntsville women executives to receive the Women's Economic Development Council (WEDC) Women Honoring Women 2024 award, recognizing influential female leaders across various professional sectors.

She received her Professional Chocolatier Certificate, with Honors, from Ecole Chocolat in 2012 and is now an instructor for the Ecole Chocolat Masterclass - Color on Chocolate. She also attended the Melissa Coppel's Intensive Chocolatier Workshop in 2019 and is continually engaged with teaching online continuing education programs.

As the Co-Owner, Executive Chocolatier, and Pastry Chef at Pizzelle Confections, Michelle and her partner and sister, Caitlin Lyon, have received many awards in the past few years, including as a 2018 and 2023 award recipient of Huntsville/Madison County Chamber's Small Business Awards. Michelle's community is very wide-reaching. As an example, Michelle recently spent a few days with Ecole Chocolat's team to develop Masterclass videos for The Almond Board of California.

Her involvement in the local Huntsville arts scene has merged food and artistic expression, allowing her to incorporate creativity and innovation into her culinary creations. Each chocolate piece and confection from Pizzelle's Confections reflects a sense of artistry, indicative of Michelle's passion for both art and food.

The nomination by Donna Lamb, a Senior Advisor at Coldwell Banker Commercial McLain Real Estate, highlights the significance of peer recognition and community support in professional advancement, for Donna was a 2008 honoree. Donna believes in paying it forward whenever an opportunity arises. "Michelle's nomination was a no brainer!"

Michelle said, "I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be one of the 2024 WHW nominees! Being surrounded by and hearing the stories of so many inspiring women at Women Honoring Women over the years has always been a source of motivation for me, and now I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to share my story and hopefully inspire others on their own paths. My ongoing mission is to inspire, educate, and help transform the culinary arts landscape in our community one sweet treat at a time. Thank you to our amazing community and everyone who has supported me along this incredible chocolate journey!"
